NIAGARA FALLS - TORONTO
Day 1: We fly to Buffalo, NY. We are met at the airport and take the short ride across the border, into Canada, where we check into our hotel for the next four evenings. During your stay you will get to appreciate the beauty and power of the magnificent Niagara Falls. Tonight is special as we visit the top of the Minolta Tower where we are not only given a delicious meal but where we enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of Niagara Falls aglow in a spectacular lighting display. (D)
Day 2: We take a delightful tour of Niagara Falls. We will see, among other things, Queen Victoria Park, the Floral Clock, the Sir Adam Beck and Robert Moses Power Plants and Brock's Monument. Get ready for some unforgettable excitement as we board the "Maid of the Mist" for a cruise the leaves from the Canadian docks and takes you past the base of the American Falls. You will be thrilled and amazed at the awesome power you feel - and hear - as you approach the mighty Falls. Time is allowed for you to enjoy Queen Victoria Park and the many shops and boutiques in the area at your leisure. Another tasty dinner is prepared for us this evening. (B,D)
Day 3: This morning finds us taking the short ride to Niagara-on-the-Lake, an 18th centruy shipbuilding town that retains much of its original charm. We will see the Laura Secord Homestead, the Niagara Apothecary Museum and Fort George - the principle British outpost until America captured it in the War of 1812. Costumed guides, in various demonstrations, show us what life was like in the early 19th century. We will then visit one of Canada's finest wineries before we return to Niagara Falls for another excellent dinner. (B,D)
Day 4: Following breakfast we drive to and tour the cosmopolitan city of Toronto. Highlights of our tour include seeing the Parliament Buildings, the Financial District, Chinatown, Eaton's Centre, one of the world's tallest structures - the CN Tower and more. We will learn a good amount about the lives and times of our Canadian neighbors and then be given some free time to stroll along Harborplace - the lovely area set alongside Toronto Harbor. We will have another great dinner in one of Toronto's better restaurants before taking the return trip to Niagara Falls. (B,D)
Day 5: We check out of our hotel and drive to Rochester where we take a tour of the George Eastman House, the 50 room mansion owned by the founder of Kodak (if time allows, due to time of return flight). The home has been restored to its 1900's appearance and contains numerous displays of photography, film and related technology. We then drive to the airport for our flight home. (B)
